In addition to playing and recording original folk music, Matt Doherty moves words around as a screenwriter and work-for-hire consultant living in Los Angeles.  A 2017 Nicholl Semi-finalist, he currently works with Academy nominated film makers Lynette Howell Taylor and Bobby Garabedian and the non-profit community arts initiative, "Liquid Worldwide.” In addition, he  lends an ear and eye as a Development Consultant at the Story Start-up “Wrong Herman Productions.”  The past few years have been exciting with several projects currently in pre-production and slated for 2019 release, but his roots have always been tied to the boards made evidence by his active participation at The Actor's Studio West and involvement with local play development going back to his days at Northwestern.  Previously, he served as a panelist and moderator at  Antaeus Playwrights from 2015-2017 where his plays Brothers Play, Gold Star, and, So I used to be White were birthed.  Matt is available for work-for-hire rewrite polish, ghost work, and as a story consultant.  Full catalogue available upon request.

Matt is most known for his work in the Mighty Ducks franchise portraying the role of Les Averman.   Other credits include So I Married an Axe Murderer and arcs on many successful television shows (CSI, ER, GREY’S ANATOMY).  Branded content he recently starred in recently won a Golden Lion award at Cannes. Although focusing primarily on his writing career, he still can be found on television and in films.  IMDB him for more specifics.
